BBC News - Haiti earthquake: After so many promises, why is the country still struggling?
Today marks 1 year since the Haiti earthquake. This report from the BBC gives you an image of the state of the country one year on, and it would seem in some parts that nothing has changed. Rubble still covers the land, people are still homeless and without sanitation, still living in “temporary” camps.
But work has been done. The Red Cross, along with other organisations have made incredible efforts to improve the lives of those effected, as explained in their article here, and more is still being done.
There is hope for Haiti yet, but for this country to prosper, it still needs your help. You can still pick up a Haitees t shirt from the Haitees shop, there’s plenty of awesome designs and as you know, all the profits go to the Red Cross. You can still make a difference, and you can look good while you’re doing it too! You can also donate directly via the Red Cross website.
You could also help just by reblogging this post; let people know that they can do something that will really make a difference today.
Thank you for your time,
Steve.
